Liverpool Cycle Strategy

What is the project?
This project will contribute to the creation of an environment that supports business growth and encourages inward investment, promotes social inclusion and helps residents from disadvantaged communities in Liverpool to access education, employment and other opportunities.

This will be achieved through investment in the cycle route network in Liverpool. There are still significant gaps in the cycle route network, cutting off a coherent, direct, attractive, safe and comfortable network around Liverpool. In particular, the northern sections of the network suffer from missing links, especially into Liverpool City Centre.

In addition to the provision of infrastructure, the project comprises a diverse range of promotional activities to overcome perceived barriers. This project will provide valuable information to target and coordinate future interventions more effectively, thereby promoting cycling and establishing a positive attitude towards cycling.

What is its purpose?
To overcome real and perceived barriers to making journeys by bike in Liverpool.

How much funding has it received from ERDF?
