What is the project?
This project aims to improve the competitiveness of manufacturing SMEs within the region (typically tier 2 and 3 suppliers) to become competitively engaged with the global automotive supply chain.
The project is seeking to:
- increase the competitiveness of the UK for sourcing manufactured components;
- utilise and cascade the regional strengths/best practices of vehicle manufacturers and tier 1 suppliers down to tier 2 and 3 companies;
- provide a forum for the deployment of the Business Link Northwest brokerage services and other relevant regional initiatives;
- enhance the leadership and management skills in the participating companies and support the development of specialist skills in those companies;
- assist companies in the network to gain entry into new automotive supply chains; and
- help participating companies to achieve recognised sector quality, cost and delivery (QCD) standards of excellence.
What is its purpose?
To establish and support a network of automotive and related manufacturing SMEs who can share best practice and work collectively towards a performance and business standard which is deemed excellent by their customers and peers.
