Know Your Customers: Delivering Inclusive Business Support in the North West

PRE-EVENT ALERT
March 2010

Are you part of a Business Support Project funded by ERDF working with new, fledgling or established businesses?

Are you committed to delivering an inclusive service but unsure what steps to take to achieve this? Do you want to know about working with entrepreneurs and businesses from groups that may face particular challenges that make it more difficult to develop, grow and sustain their business? Such groups might include:

  • Older Entrepreneurs
  • Female Entrepreneurs
  • Entrepreneurs from  Black and Minority Ethnic origin
  • Entrepreneurs facing barriers related to deprivation
  • Disabled Entrepreneurs

If the answer is 'yes' you are invited to attend one of a series bespoke events to share knowledge and experiences relating to the challenges of supporting people setting up and running businesses, and how these can be addressed.

The events will all take place in the North West; they will be free of charge and fully accessible.

You will be eligible for:

  • Pre-event information to make sure you can get the most out of the event when you attend
  • Post-event materials so that you can incorporate information and ideas into your everyday business support afterwards
  • Access to a specialist website providing follow-up information and contacts

Delivered by inspiring and experienced speakers and facilitators and through break-out groups each event will cover inclusive business support, delivering and receiving inclusive business support, barriers and challenges facing groups with specific requirements, lessons to learn from other models and examples of good practice.

You will meet other service providers experiencing similar issues and have ample opportunity to share good ideas and learning.
